St Aidan’s Parish Summer Fête – Sunday 13 July 2008

St Aidan's Parish Fete Logo

Your Parish needs YOU! The Summer Fête is our biggest fundraining event of the year and a fantastic family occasion enjoyed by all in our Parish as well as by the many visitors who are always warmly welcome.

  1. We need China, Glass, Books (no magazines), Records, CDs, DVDs, Computer Games, Toys and Board Games.
  2. Teddies and other Soft Toys are wanted for the Teddy Tombola (Brenda is getting desperate!)
  3. Do you have any Heath and Safety experience, or do you know someone who can help us with this for the Fête?
  4. We are urgently looking for Face Panters.
  5. Please pledge your time to help with our Summer Fête — help setting up and clearing up on the weekend, running attractions or helping on a stall. Please fill in a Pledge Sheet and return in to the box in the church porch or contact the Fête Committee through the Contact Us page.
  6. Please: no clothes or shoes.

The Parish Fête Committee Web Page has lots more information including details of how you can help both before and on the day itself. Please have a look and see what you can offer to help make this day a success.

There is also a Photo Gallery showing pictures of last year's Fete.

St Trinian’s School Dinners Disco and Karaoke Night

Many thanks to all those who helped make this such a brilliant, fun event. For those of you who were there — and for those who missed it — photographs will follow soon…

Gift Aid Envelopes

These are now available in the Church Porch. Even if you pay by standing order please do take your pack of envelopes as use them as this enables us to claim the Gift Aid tax refund on all the contributions you so generously make to the extra collections throughout the year.

I remember when…

The Parish of St Aidan’s was founded in 1909 so it will be our centenary next year in 2009. We want your memories of parish and community life in times gone by, so please help us. Give us your stories of life here in the past and, if you have any photos or old booklets (e.g. Confirmations, events, the opening of the newly-built church in 1966 etc.) please let us have a copy or let us take a photocopy.

Children’s Liturgy at the 11:00am Mass

Children, up to Year 4 only, are welcome to attend the Children’s Liturgy. Older children should stay in the church for the Mass. Where a child/children from a family need to be accompanied could we ask that one parent only is with them in the Hall.
